Pieces of memory
Outside was sunny, assignments due soon, yet daydreaming still occupied me. Books everywhere, on the floor, on bed, on the table. Going to the kitchen to refill my jug, in my pink and green Crocs sandals; said hi to my Srilankan housemate who had just finished cooking her yellowish food. -A day in summery Adelaide-
Perth Airport, picked up Eat, Pray, Love, waited for the next flight, decided to go to Perth CBD, ate Gelato, back to the airport, embarked on a night flight, stopped over at Johannesburg Airport, waited for the connecting flight to Douala. Arrived in Douala, dark and humid airport, old building, too many people in such a small airport, chaos, confusion, couldn’t find my luggage. -On the trip from Adelaide to Douala, Dec 2009-
Snow, freezing weather, wet and slippery pedestrian path, inability to comprehend what people were talking about, trying to find the stars instead, enjoying the city view. -Trieste, Winter 2010-2011-
Hungry, walked out from the hotel room, bought the bus ticket from a little cafe across the street, went to the bus stop, tried to guess at which stop I should wait. Bus arrived, was thinking to go to Lasize, passed Lasize, changed my mind, wondered what’s ahead, saw a very beautiful and huge lake called Lago di Garda, passed several towns, arrived in the middle of nowhere, decided to get on the other bus back to where I was from, arrived in Bussolengo where the hotel was, decided to go further to Verona. Arrived in Verona, hungry as hell. -Verona, Italy, Summer 2011-
