7pm back to my place, exhausted, tired, but highly inspired.
So, what’s happening in my life now?
There are two highlights, first, my career development, second, my love life.
I was asked to join the executive committee of High Achievers Association (HAA). The opportunity came from someone who knew me as Monash Postgraduate Association Campus Representative. HAA is managed by 1 director and 4 committee members. I replaced someone’s position as the partnership manager. The reason why I joined this association was I was really impressed by how the team is managed by the director. As a matter of fact, my director has been a great leader and inspiration. I have learned a lot from her, such as business communication, professionalism, commitment, project management, members’ development, teamwork. or instance, I didn’t like talking on the phone, especially in English, which is my second language, but as a partnership manager, I had to pick up the phone and called partners, who are in the business and corporate. Now, I prefer talking on the phone than writing an email. I also learned how to write a professional and effective email. In terms of project management, I used to think I was pretty good at it, but knowing how she manages a project, I am really small in comparison to her. Last week had been stressful to me, I made mistakes, I struggled to complete my tasks, but I grew a lot as a person. Today, we just concluded our training days and we might have a little bit of time before we start again, or I will focus on my exams first. Being in the committee has helped me develop my professional skills and I’m grateful for that.
If I have to say which uni I have graduated from, I will definitely mention Monash University. This university has given me a lot of opportunities. I got involved in various activities, met a lot of people, made a bunch of exciting friendships and the most recent one was I got asked to participate in the photo shoot Monash Course Guide 2012. They selected students who have interesting extracurricular background and I’m honoured to be part of it.
In regards to my love life, I’m lucky to meet this person. He is sweet, understanding, and caring. I was hesitant to jump into a relationship with him, especially after a break-up from my long-term relationship, but he convinced me that I couldn’t miss him out. I wanted to be on my own for a while, but being with this guy turns out that I can still enjoy myself and be on my own. He, in fact, makes my life even more exciting.
I’m learning, I’m progressing.. Inspire me.
